I thought this book might have interest as an example of how people talked (or at least wrote dialog) & behaved in its era, like reading a Hardy Boy-ish book, but it wasn't worth it. Poorly written, repetitious, redundant, awkward prose with a sprinkling of racism to add zest, and a totally pointless plot that goes nowhere. The only mystery is why it ended when it did. After a tedious several-day search complicated by unresolved subplots about which of their two guides, two random Navajo, & two possibly larcenous white strangers are working with them or against them, the stupid & annoying boys are finally led to the site of the mine...or are they? The book just stops there, without even an indication of whether the plot continues in a subsequent book in the series. This is a bad book!Product details
